12 July 1998 - Sunday

Bad again. Antica moors on the Wight Island near Portsmouth. For two days our boys have been waiting for wind to change. Storm 8 B, SW to S, right against their course and still raining. There are 8 other ships waiting for weather to change, all of them are supposed to take part in regatta. Among them is a Russian MIR. The new crew feels a bit sea sick.

"It stopped raining almost two hours ago, looks like something's changing, maybe tomorrow morning we'll leave the port" said Capt. Jerzy at 23:15 on Sunday.

From now on Antica's route will lead according to the arrangements of organisers of Cutty Sark Tall Ships' Races: Plymouth - Falmouth - Lisbon.

For those who like statistics: Captain's count shows that during the entering 30 days of the voyage, Antica had only 7 hours of the wind which one can call 'favourable'.
